I’m a creature of habit. I have probably had the same type of cereal for breakfast for the last 752 days. I can also be seen making 1:00 am runs to the grocery store to make sure I have nonfat organic milk for my morning chai. I know this is a bit obsessive, but I really enjoy my breakfast! […]

I just went to the Indian grocery store to stock up on staples like chai masala and dal, and to my amusement they had added a new section:
I got everything I needed and more, including some jaggery that I don’t know what to do with yet. But unfortunately no Meditarian items…

I’m looking at the clock, again. Only a few minutes have passed since last time I checked. I’m in my favorite evening yoga class, but unfortunately today my mind is utterly bored. As soon as we hold a pose for more than a breath my mind is off on its own, thinking about brussel sprouts […]

I’m hungry, I’ve come down with a cold, and I’m home alone watching Jon Stewart. What to eat that doesn’t involve opening a can of soup? Quick, easy, salty… Maybe some pasta? With garlic?

To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, […]

In my 6+ years of taking yoga classes I have tried many types of classes, styles, studios, gyms and teachers. Some were fantastic, some were outright terrible, and some were okay but kind of forgettable. Finding a class and teacher that is right for you gives you a whole new perspective on yoga. If you […]

One of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle is Caffe Fiore on Queen Anne. Organic fair-trade coffee, Dagoba hot chocolate, green tea chai, organic granola, and vegan pastries as well as other yummy treats like organic croissants. The place smells amazing, you feel more awake just walking in the door!
In warmer weather the reclining chairs […]
