Hello there, this is a blog I'd definitely revisit!

I read your entry and wanted to share a recipe you perhaps already tried(?) Its called 'paanakam' and is served in Tamil homes in summer, especially during the Sri Raama Navami festival.

PAANAKAM:
Recipe source - Google search - http://www.awesomecuisine.com/

Ingredients
Jaggery (powdered) - 1 cup.
Water - 3 cups.
Lemon - 2.
Dried ginger (powdered) - 1 ½ tsp.
Cardamom (crushed) - 1/2 tsp.
Pepper & salt - to taste.

Method: Mix the jaggery in water and dissolve it well. Filter to remove impurities. Add lemon juice, dried ginger powder, cardamom, pepper and salt to taste. Mix well. Serve chilled.
