Library Yoga for Kids
Do you take your kids to the library for books and story time? Now it looks like you can come for yoga classes too. The Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich, Illinois, has started a Yoga for Preschoolers class, running every Thursday morning in May. The Lake Zurich Courier reports that the kids love it, having fun with animal poses like lion and downward dog.
I’m a librarian by education, and this story just warms my heart. Libraries are one of the last free community centers we have left, and using libraries for yoga makes complete sense to me. It’s getting more and more difficult to find free or inexpensive yoga classes, and giving kids and adults access to yoga instruction at the library gives everyone a chance to learn.
When are we getting yoga classes at the Seattle Public Library?
