Richard Freeman Workshop + Talk in Seattle

Ashtanga teacher Richard Freeman is coming to Seattle this weekend to give a workshop, which is hosted by local teacher Troy Lucero. The workshop is titled The Radiant Ground : Awakening Subtle Alignment and Flow with Ashtanga Yoga,  and will focus on “a step by step exploration of the basic thread of form, breathing, and movement upon which the classical series of postures in the Ashtanga Vinyasa system is strung.”

The workshop is currently filled to capacity, but Richard Freeman is giving a talk on Saturday February 21 at 5:00 pm that is open to the public. So if you didn’t sign up for the workshop in time you still have a chance to meet one of the most respected Ashtanga teachers in the West!

Saturday February 21, 2009 @ 5:00 pm

Brightwater School in Skinner Theater,

(Right next to St. Mark’s Cathedral)

Unfortunately I’m not able to attend the full workshop, but I’m thinking I might prepare for the talk by practicing with Freeman’s Ashtanga Yoga: The Primary Series DVD. (Which is a great DVD with lots of instructions, highly recommended!) My Ashtanga practice is still in it’s infancy, so the workshop might have been a bit too much for me anyway…
