I was taught how to deepen my meditation by a buddhist, she would do a little talk to get us in the mood, then we would just sit for half an hour. I would easily fall into meditation in that room with her and a few other people around. I think I learnt by osmosis by just being in her presence. I suggest anyone finding it hard to meditate or slow down try an ashram or temple or a place where a lot of meditating goes on, somehow you can absorb the energy and it seems to make it easier too when you then try at home. Just a suggestion, it worked for me so might work for someone else! I found meditation something I had to stick with and over time I got better at it, what I mean is, it became easier to slip into the meditative state for longer periods of time. I love your blog Heidi there are so many interesting things to read! Thank you for your efforts.
Aum Shanti.

Despite the benefits, I've found that it's often hard for me to make time for a meditation practice. In a way, I'm glad to find that I'm not the only one. There's something about stillness that I think is hard to make ourselves do these days, but thanks for the reminder that I should try!

(I've just found your blog and am so inspired, by the way. Thanks for your interesting and insightful posts!)
